My Roots

Hi there! I’m Abby Brown. As a country raised kid, I’ve always had small-town pride and big world dreams. I have a degree in History and certification for Secondary Education, which I don’t use because I just can’t get down with the education system these days (that’s a whole ‘nother story).

I’ve travelled all over the country and still managed to plant myself only an hour and a half away from where I’ll always call “home.” I currently live in a small hamlet in Central PA with my husband, Justin, and our adorable cats Kiki, Orwell and Gus. I’ve never lived in town prior to this. The houses are stacked on top of each other and there are rules about what you can do with your yard. Seriously, what is this madness? Adjusting has been difficult, so it’s no surprise that I’m eager to get back to my roots.

Here’s what I’m made of:

Born to play in the dirt, gardening helps ease my soul. Working with my hands always warms my spirit and reading is my escape from reality. Cooking a meal and sharing it with the people that I love makes me feel whole. My family is my rock; they’re crazy and completely stellar. Making friends is my business. I’m a Ravenclaw through and through. I truly believe that people are inherently good. Antiques, family heirlooms and Christmastime are my obsessions. I love exploring, telling stories, and a good party. Learning new things, making a proper cup of coffee or tea and striving for that OOLA life (you’ll hear more about this later, I’m sure) are parts of my daily routine. Recently, I’ve fallen in love with celebrating our Lord Jesus Christ. There’s no better way to boost your spirts and start your week than with lively worship music and rock solid fellowship. Out of everything I’ve just shared with you, there is something you should know: I’m bound and determined to make a difference in the world.
